About the Foundation
The Hanford Elementary School District Foundation, Inc. was organized in 2004 as a nonprofit, tax-exempt corporation for educational and charitable purposes.
Mission
Our purpose is to promote education excellence and strengthen community participation in the Hanford Elementary Public Schools.
Objectives
The Foundation focuses support on the following objectives:
- Enhancing learning opportunities for students
- Encouraging creative and innovative education programs
- Recognizing and supporting teachers and support staff
- Promoting greater parent involvement
- Promoting HESD in the community and encouraging private sector involvement
Thus building a greater sense of community and a more vibrant workforce.
Funding
PRIMARY FUNDING AREAS
The Foundation seeks to fund programs and projects not affordable through public funds to provide enhanced learning opportunities for students. Contributions will help support a number of programs such as:
- After-school Programs
- Science and Technology Programs
- Student Assistance Programs
- Music and Arts Education
- Science, Environmental and Agricultural Education
- Athletics
- Student Empowerment and Leadership
Tax Exempt Status - 501 (c) (3)
The Foundation has received tax-exempt status in accordance with Section 501 (c) (3) of the Internal Revenue Code. Donations to the HESD Foundation, Inc. are tax deductible and will directly benefit the students in our schools
